Bashley U19s Make Hay

On a bright sunny early Autumn afternoon Bashley’s Under 19s made hay whilst the sun shone by opening their home account with a decisive five goal spree. The team, a mixture of returning students and new boys, increased in confidence as the game progressed. The first goal was a while coming but well worth the wait: a fine through ball from Jonny Davies was met and controlled by fast-maturing Tyrell Sampson who turned and riffled home from just inside the box.

Tyrell SampsonLeon Carbayo-Borges, who had been causing havoc with his speed and trickery, showed he was also an opportunist by chasing an innocuous high forward-lob in time to meet the second bounce which he then headed into the net over the advancing keeper. Bashley were now on fire and Sampson scored his second when dispatching a pull back from Carbayo-Borges with confident ease.

The home side then used all four subs and Zorro Skilton took full advantage of his appearance by netting from all of 30 yards. With minutes to go Carbayo-Borges unlined his influence by scoring a solo goal that included a crowd-pleasing nut-meg as part of his goal run.
